THE RISK!

We all have dreams and passion. Some remain as dream whereas some come to reality.

One of my passion was to ride from Bangalore to Nilambur (600 kms) by bike. I never dreamt of making this happen since I was surrounded by people who didn’t like my adventurous plan or some who were scared of letting me taking that big risk.

My dad, N C Philip went several times on his old vehicle from Bangalore to Kerala. Being his son, at least I have to go once 🙂 (My passion). Well, on Tuesday morning, I set out on my journey at 4 AM. I have gone several times by car and bus, but this was the best adventurous journey. The cool wind passing by, the birds chirping, and the beauty of nature just amazed me. How beautiful is God’s creation. He has allotted a particular time for the sun, moon, and the stars. Each of them has been obedient to the master’s command since then.

A few things that caught my attention:

Warning Signs– Warning signs are of great help. Since, I knew the road, it was easy for me. But  for a person travelling for the first time, warning signs are a great help in guiding them in the proper direction. There were different signs like speed breaker, speed limit, curves ahead, narrow road etc., Only when I obeyed those signs, I was able to reach safely. The Bible gives us various warning signs on different issues. It is essential for a follower of Christ to read and most importantly put that in to practice so that he . One example is Psalms 119: 9- How can a young man keep his way pure, by living according to the Word. The sign for a youth to keep his way pure is to live according to God’s word alone. If a person do not take this word of God lightly, then he fails in his Christian life.

Eyes on the Road- By seeing the beautiful nature, one can get distracted. Keeping your eyes on the road is very essential. Most accidents happen by distraction, a single second off the road can prove very costly, even one’s own life.

When Peter saw Jesus walking on water, he too wanted to walk on water. When Peter walked looking at Jesus, he was ok, but as he saw the waves and the water around him, he started sinking. The scripture emphasizes to “look onto Jesus” who is the author and perfector of our faith. Let us keep our eyes on to Jesus and let nothing distract us.

All the successful people have taken big risks! We need to take some risks in order to get rid of our fears. As the word of God says, do not be anxious about anything. Pray and move forward.

What are you scared of?

God is with us! Amen
